
The Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) welcomed a delegation from the Ministry of Works, Kingdom of Bahrain, on 5 February 2025 for a strategic meeting focused on advancing regional infrastructure and sustainability initiatives.
The session, led by H.E. Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, DMT Chairman, and H.E. Eng. Ebrahim Bin Hasan Al Hawaj, Bahrain’s Minister of Works, explored key topics including traffic congestion solutions, the Abu Dhabi road network, wastewater management, and the use of treated water for urban sustainability.
Both parties shared insights on smart mobility solutions, sustainable urban development, and innovative transport strategies, reflecting a mutual commitment to future-ready infrastructure. DMT highlighted its ongoing efforts in leveraging technology for smart city planning, ensuring efficiency and sustainability in line with Abu DhabThe Ministry of Works showcased Bahrain’s infrastructure plans under the National Strategic Master Plan (Outlook 2030), emphasising their focus on transportation, drainage systems, and public road networks. The discussions underscored the importance of regional collaboration in addressing urban challenges and driving sustainable progress.
The meeting concluded with a commitment to continued dialogue and knowledge-sharing, reinforcing strong bilateral ties between Abu Dhabi and Bahrain in the fields of municipal development and transport innovation.
