The Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) and its affiliated entities have won three Diamond Level and Gold Level Awards at the Harvard International Business Council Award 2022.

DMT won the Diamond Level award for its Municipal Electronic Classification Systems (MeCs) and the Gold Level award for its Freejna Smart Application. Al Ain City Municipality (AAM) won the Diamond Level award for its efforts in handling the COVID-19 pandemic and the Gold Level award for its customer service.

AAM also won the Gold Level award for its Al Ain City Municipality Innovation Management System under the innovation category, while the Integrated Transport Centre won the Diamond Level award for its DARB Tolling System.

His Excellency Falah Al Ahbabi, Chairman of the Department of Municipalities and Transport said: “It is an honour to be recognised by Harvard Business Council and win these awards. We continuously innovate and look for new ways to enhance the quality of life for our residents. We strive to implement the latest innovations and efficient governance to provide the highest level of service.”

“These accomplishments recognise the efforts of DMT and its affiliated entities to develop and provide more accessible services in accordance with the highest standards and to be a pioneering government agency in adopting and launching numerous service initiatives and projects that protect the environment and ensure that future generations have a sustainable future.”

The Harvard Business Council gives the award every year to individuals and organisations whose work and projects have had a positive effect on the environment and society. It is considered one of the most prestigious international awards focusing on total quality management and aiming to judge institutions in different fields based on their level of excellence and how well they use best practices.
