Abu Dhabi

In keeping with international events and embodying the Department of Municipalities and Transport's commitment, represented by the Abu Dhabi City Municipality, to strengthening communication with all segments of society and participating in their celebrations, the Environment, Health and Safety Department organized an event to mark International Workers' Day, targeting workers in construction and building companies operating in Abu Dhabi.
The event was held at an active construction site in the city, with many workers in attendance. Its primary aim was to honor and appreciate the workers for their dedicated efforts and significant role in driving comprehensive development and urban progress in Abu Dhabi. The initiative also sought to express gratitude and respect for this vital segment of society and bring them joy on their special day.
The event featured an awareness session highlighting the significance of International Workers’ Day and the UAE’s dedication to recognizing the contributions of labor forces on this global occasion. In addition, gifts were distributed to bring joy to the workers, and a series of free medical examinations were conducted in collaboration with Aster M Healthcare Hospital.
Abu Dhabi City Municipality accords special attention to labor forces, acknowledging them as key contributors to the production process and essential partners in the country's development journey. In line with this vision, the municipality continuously carries out field campaigns throughout the year at construction sites to ensure the implementation of safety standards, aiming to provide a secure work environment that safeguards the health and well-being of workers. Moreover, numerous recreational and sports initiatives are organized to enhance workers’ well-being while also ensuring the interests of employers — contributing to labor market stability and increased productivity.
