Abu Dhabi

In alignment with the International Day of Older Persons, Abu Dhabi City Municipality, through Al Shahama Municipality centers and Al Wathba, hosted events to honor and celebrate senior citizens. The purpose was to boost community involvement, appreciate the knowledge and lived experiences of our elderly, foster better communication with them, and solidify the principles and values of taking care of senior members of the community. This also served to raise community awareness towards all sections of society and to foster deeper bonds of love and unity among its residents.
Furthermore, at Al Rahba Square, Al Shahama Municipality Center organized an event for senior citizens, in collaboration with key partners like Al Bustan Hospital, Burjeel Hospital, Abu Dhabi Councils, Abu Dhabi Community Development, and Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters - Family Development. The celebration featured various stage performances by school students, poetry recitals highlighting the significant role of seniors in the UAE's comprehensive development, diverse competitions, and medical check-ups for the elderly.
On a similar note, Al Wathba Municipality Center hosted an event at Shakhbout Medical City to bring joy to senior citizens. The festivities involved visiting elderly patients, presenting them with gifts in recognition of the International Day of the Elderly, acknowledging their contributions, boosting their spirits, promoting community unity, and reinforcing familial bonds and relationships across different societal sections, embodying the core values of UAE society.
