As part of its commitment to enhancing quality of life and strengthening community engagement, Abu Dhabi City Municipality has organised its 'Summer with Us' community initiative across Abu Dhabi Corniche Beach, Al Falah Plaza, Al Shamkhah Plaza and Rabdan Park, in collaboration with a number of strategic partners. The initiative forms part of the Municipality's ongoing efforts to encourage meaningful educational and recreational activities throughout the summer holiday, in support of the Year of the Family, while contributing to the wellbeing and happiness of all members of the community.
At Al Falah Plaza, Abu Dhabi City Municipality hosted the 'Summer with Us' event over four consecutive days in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, Burjeel Medical City, Al Ain Farms, and the General Women's Union. The initiative aimed to provide a safe, engaging and family-friendly environment that combines entertainment with learning, with a particular focus on children and young people through a diverse programme designed to develop their skills, broaden their awareness and foster positive values.
The event featured a wide range of educational and recreational activities, including arts and crafts workshops, sporting activities, educational competitions, awareness programmes and food trucks, creating a vibrant and interactive atmosphere for visitors of all ages.
The programme also focused on promoting the values of respect and responsibility while supporting the personal development of children and young people through interactive workshops, games and hands-on activities. In addition, volunteers played an active role in organising and delivering the event, reinforcing the culture of volunteering and highlighting its important contribution to community service.
The Municipality will also organise 'Summer with Us' at Rabdan Park from 6 to 9 August 2026, in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, Tadweer Group, and Al Ahliya Hospital. The programme aims to encourage community participation and raise public awareness through a diverse schedule of recreational activities, games, educational workshops and awareness sessions.
At Abu Dhabi Corniche Beach, the Municipality will host 'Summer with Us' from 13 to 16 August 2026, welcoming visitors of all ages in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority, Tadweer Group, Ayat Helmi Foundation, and Medeor Hospital.
The programme will feature a variety of summer-themed community activities, including a workshop highlighting the Municipality's beach services for People of Determination and senior citizens, awareness sessions on preserving the city's public appearance, and workshops on public safety and appropriate fire response procedures.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to participate in a beach safety workshop and an introductory session on the internationally recognised Blue Flag Award, including an explanation of the coloured beach flag system. Educational competitions and entertainment activities will also be organised, with prizes awarded to participants.
Meanwhile, Al Shamkhah Plaza will host 'Summer with Us' from 20 to 23 August 2026, offering families and children a safe recreational and educational environment throughout the summer holiday. The initiative aims to encourage the productive use of leisure time while enhancing quality of life for community members. It is being organised in collaboration with the National Archives, the Library, Community Police, Royal Phone Mobile Store, and Burjeel Hospital.
Activities at Al Shamkhah Plaza will include talks on summer safety, children's workshops on recycling, competitions for young participants, and complimentary health screenings for members of the community.
