Abu Dhabi

The Abu Dhabi City Municipality, through Madinat Zayed Municipality Center, organized a field campaign for the disposal of construction waste, including materials like pasco paving stones, to preserve the city’s aesthetic appeal and infrastructure. This initiative, undertaken in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Waste Management Company (Tadweer), targeted owners and workers at construction sites in both the Madinat Zayed and Shakbout areas.
The five-days-long campaign aimed at raising awareness among owners, construction companies, and workers at the sites, emphasizing the crucial significance of preserving the aesthetics of public spaces, protecting the community members from construction waste, and the safe disposal of such waste, which will in turn speed-up the workflow of projects and keep the environment clean and safe, and ensure public safety and well-being.
The campaign also involved sending awareness text messages to the target groups, in addition to publishing numerous awareness materials through the official accounts of the municipality on social networking sites and the “Freejna” application. This was done to educate owners and contractors about the importance of maintaining the general appearance and a healthy environment by properly managing construction waste, thereby preventing it from posing a danger to workers at sites or to passers-by in business areas.
