The Department of Municipalities and Transport, represented by Abu Dhabi City Municipality, organised an awareness workshop titled “Noise Control Measures at Construction Sites”, targeting workers and project owners in the construction sector.
The workshop aimed to raise awareness among workers and construction project owners about the risks of noise and its negative impact on workers’ health and the surrounding community. It also provided practical guidance on reducing noise levels and improving the working environment, in line with the approved environmental, health and safety standards in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
The workshop covered a range of occupational health and safety requirements within the construction sector, including training workers on safe working practices, periodic measurement of noise levels, regulation of working hours, development of effective noise management plans, and the adoption of environmentally friendly practices.
In addition, the workshop included several discussion and awareness sessions addressing the impact of noise on public health, sources of noise at construction sites, relevant legislation and regulations, as well as an overview of modern technologies and methods for noise management in construction projects.
This workshop reflects Abu Dhabi City Municipality’s commitment to strengthening compliance with occupational health and safety standards and enhancing environmental awareness at work sites, contributing to the protection of workers and the improvement of quality of life for the community.
