In line with the Year of the Family, Abu Dhabi City Municipality organised the “Summer with Us” event at Mohammed bin Zayed City Square, targeting all family members. The event aimed to strengthen community engagement and provide an enjoyable summer entertainment atmosphere that meets residents’ needs, enhances public satisfaction, and supports quality of life.
The event sought to create a vibrant community environment filled with enjoyment and interaction, while encouraging community participation during the summer season. It offered a range of awareness, recreational, and creative activities suitable for various age groups, helping to strengthen communication and connection among community members in Mohammed bin Zayed City.
The event included an environmental and awareness corner, offering children guidance and advice on maintaining health and safety during the summer season. A sports corner was also organised, featuring physical activities and sessions supervised by a specialised trainer, with the aim of encouraging children to stay active and engage in sport in an enjoyable and interactive way.
The event also featured a variety of dedicated corners. Artistic and creative areas offered workshops in drawing, colouring, and handicrafts, alongside face painting and educational workshops for children, providing them with space to express their talents and develop their skills in a safe and enjoyable environment.
The programme further included a diverse range of activities, such as ice cream outlets offering distinctive summer flavours, food and beverage kiosks, interactive competitions that created an atmosphere of excitement and enjoyment, entertainment shows on the open stage, and a photography corner with a dedicated summer-themed backdrop for mobile phone photos.
The event was organised in collaboration with several partners, including Phoenix Hospital, the Authority of Social Contribution – Ma’an, Agthia Group, Tadweer Group, Umbrella, and Aisha Land. This collaboration reflected the importance of integrated efforts among various entities in delivering community initiatives that bring happiness to residents and provide meaningful and enjoyable family experiences.
The children’s competitions witnessed strong engagement from participants, ranging from questions and answers to movement-based games and a number of entertaining challenges that helped promote a positive spirit of competition among children.
The event forms part of Abu Dhabi City Municipality’s commitment to enhancing quality of life and strengthening family and community cohesion by providing interactive initiatives and programmes that bring family members together in a safe environment that encourages communication and participation.
It also aligns with the objectives of the Year of the Family, which seek to strengthen the role of the family as the foundation of society, support family bonds, and enable children to benefit from their time through educational and recreational activities that develop their skills and promote the values of cooperation, belonging, and social responsibility.
