
Reinforcing authentic Emirati values and promoting national identity, Abu Dhabi City Municipality is organising Ramadan Majlis events across a number of locations as part of its efforts to strengthen community engagement and revive traditional Ramadan gatherings.
The Ramadan Majlis — open to the public — are being held in six community squares located in Khalifa City, Mohammed Bin Zayed City, Al Falah, Al Bahia, Shakhbout City, and Al Shamkha from 26 February to 8 March 2026, welcoming visitors daily from 9:00 pm to 2:00 am.
The Majlis feature a range of activities and programmes designed to engage visitors of all ages. These include more than 20 food trucks and cafés, religious, heritage and entertainment competitions and games, as well as 18 kiosks showcasing products by productive families, in addition to a variety of Ramadan-themed activities suitable for all members of the community.
The initiative aims to enhance the Municipality’s presence within the community and encourage residents to participate in the events it organises, while strengthening levels of community engagement. It also seeks to motivate residents of the host areas to play an active and positive role in community occasions, thereby reinforcing social connections among different segments of society. In addition, the Majlis provide enjoyable recreational experiences while supporting youth entrepreneurs and productive families involved in small and medium-sized projects.
The Municipality confirmed that the initiative aligns with its priorities to enhance community wellbeing and strengthen family and social bonds, while activating municipal facilities during Ramadan and reinforcing their role as vibrant community spaces.
Special attention has also been given to activities and workshops dedicated to children, enabling families to enjoy memorable Ramadan evenings in a safe and welcoming environment. These include social and recreational activities, cultural workshops, interactive programmes and competitions tailored for children.
The Municipality invites community members and families to take part in these gatherings and experience the authentic Ramadan atmosphere, while strengthening community connections through visits to the Majlis and enjoying quality time in a setting that reflects the enduring values of Emirati heritage.
