Abu Dhabi

In line with World Day for Safety and Health at Work, Abu Dhabi City Municipality organised an awareness workshop at a construction site, targeting contractors, consultants, and developers operating in the construction sector. The initiative forms part of the Municipality’s commitment to promoting a safe working environment, raising awareness of the Abu Dhabi Occupational Safety and Health System, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations governing construction sites.
The workshop aimed to highlight the importance of adopting a comprehensive preventive approach to reduce workplace incidents by ensuring safe working environments equipped with all necessary precautions and control measures, thereby protecting workers and enhancing overall performance in occupational health and safety.
It addressed a range of key topics, including occupational health and safety requirements in the construction sector, accident prevention mechanisms at work sites, and best practices in managing occupational health and safety systems, alongside the use of effective tools to drive continuous improvement.
The workshop also featured interactive discussion sessions, enabling participants to raise queries and discuss challenges, in addition to reviewing site inspection procedures, external audit requirements for construction companies, and their level of compliance with occupational health and safety standards.
Through this awareness initiative, Abu Dhabi City Municipality reaffirmed its ongoing commitment to strengthening safety culture across work sites and supporting partnerships with stakeholders in the construction sector, contributing to the achievement of the highest safety standards and the protection of lives and property.
