In the presence of His Excellency Saif Badr Al Qubaisi, Director General of the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City, the Municipality, through the City Planning Sector - Environment, Health and Safety Department, organized the Golden Helmet Award Ceremony in the theater of the municipality’s main building, to honor the winners of the awards of the third session from companies operating in the building and construction sector, including contractors and consultants within The geographical scope of the work of the Abu Dhabi City Municipality.The ceremony witnessed the honoring of the companies that won the award categories and met the criteria required to obtain the award.
The award in its third session, in the category of best performance, was won by: the contractor: Metito LLC, and the consultant: Al Suwaidi Engineering Consulting Office.
As for the large projects category, it was won by: Ling Ururk Middle East Company.
The medium projects category was won by: Hilal Bel Badi and Partners Contracting LLC (Hilalco).
As for the People category, the following won:
1-Mansour Burhan El-Din Abdel Samad as the best occupational health and safety manager for the year 2023.
2- Muhammad Jaber Ahmed as the best occupational health and safety engineer for the year 2023.
3- Edralin Esther Dimano as the best environment, health and safety officer for the year 2023.
4- Maryam Nasser Al Suwaidi Award for Emerging Engineer in the Field of Occupational Health and Safety for the year 2023.
The award aims to create competitive areas between participants, leading to the improvement and development of health and safety measures and practices in the sector. It also aims to strengthen partnerships with the private sector, and promote awareness and education in the fields of Environment, Health, and Safety, all to reduce occupational incidents, injuries, and property losses. Additionally, it encourages companies in the construction sector to prioritize commitment, creativity, and innovation, and to achieve the highest levels of compliance with laws and regulations that ensure a safe and comfortable environment for everyone.
The award reflects Abu Dhabi City Municipality’s commitment to leading in the implementation of occupational health and safety standards in the construction sector. It encourages companies in this sector to enhance their occupational health and safety practices to an advanced level, reduce incidents, strengthen worker safety, and provide everything necessary to ensure their occupational health and safety.
The award serves as a positive motivation for site officials to enhance their performance, adopt the best methods for maintaining labor safety, and implement recognized standards for Environment, Health, and Safety in all projects. It achieves this by fostering competitiveness among companies in the construction sector, which ultimately results in excellence in the areas of occupational health, safety, and the environment. Additionally, it strengthens partnerships with the private sector.
It is noteworthy that Abu Dhabi City Municipality, represented by the Environment, Health, and Safety Department, works on organizing the award every two years. The award is based on several general technical standards that the Municipality uses in reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating the applications submitted for participation in the award. Winners are selected by a specialized committee that evaluates the applications from companies in various award categories.
