Abu Dhabi

As part of a comprehensive plan to upgrade and enhance the efficiency of parks and recreational facilities, Abu Dhabi City Municipality, through the Municipal Community Center, has completed an extensive development project to improve the infrastructure and amenities at Airport Park. This initiative aims to provide fully integrated recreational and service facilities that enhance community satisfaction, meet visitors' expectations, and contribute to their happiness.
The development works included completely rehabilitating park walkways and pathways, covering a distance of 1.1 km, and creating a 1.3 km jogging track. Additionally, new play areas were established for children of all ages, including installing two specially designed play structures for people of determination. A multi-purpose sports court was also constructed to encourage community members to engage in various physical activities.
The enhancement project involved the installation of informational and directional signage throughout the park and beautifying natural landscapes by planting approximately 60 Ghaf trees to provide shade along the walkways. The shaded seating areas were refurbished for visitor comfort, and the park’s restrooms underwent a complete renovation.
The development works also included creating 10 dedicated barbecue areas to meet public demand and rehabilitating all pathways and routes to align with the upgraded amenities and facilities. Park entrances were seamlessly connected to all internal facilities to ensure easy access for visitors and to create a fully integrated recreational environment catering to all age groups.
Abu Dhabi City Municipality affirms its ongoing commitment to the continuous development of parks and recreational spaces throughout its jurisdiction. These efforts aim to meet the community's diverse interests, provide a modern and comprehensive recreational environment, and align with Abu Dhabi's ongoing urban and cultural development across all sectors.
