Reaffirming the value of workers and their pivotal role as key partners in the production process and essential contributors to development and progress, Abu Dhabi City Municipality organised two events to mark International Workers’ Day, reflecting its ongoing commitment to social responsibility and inclusive community engagement.
As part of these efforts, the Municipality delivered the “Fi Hob Madinatna (For the Love of Our City)” Workers’ Day event at Musaffah Bazaar Market. The initiative aimed to raise awareness of the importance of maintaining the city’s public appearance and to promote shared responsibility, while celebrating international occasions through active community participation.
In collaboration with the Labour Accommodation Authority, the event featured a workshop on preserving the public realm, recognition of outstanding workers, and the “Bazaar Star” award. Free medical screenings were provided on-site by Life Care Hospital, while Starbucks offered 200 cold beverages with snacks. Jumbuck “Unisop” distributed 150 gifts, and the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation contributed a further 200 gifts. The event attracted 160 attendees, including members of the public and partners, who demonstrated strong engagement with the initiative.
The event was supported by several partners, including the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, the Labour Accommodation Authority, Starbucks, Life Care Hospital, Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, and Jumbuck “Unisop”.
In parallel, the Municipality organised a second event at a construction site in Abu Dhabi City in collaboration with Burjeel Hospital – Al Shahama, underscoring its continued commitment to all categories of workers as essential contributors to productivity and development.
The event included an awareness session highlighting the significance of International Workers’ Day and recognising the vital role of workers in driving development, in appreciation of their ongoing contributions. Free medical examinations were also provided, alongside the distribution of gifts to participating workers, in an initiative combining awareness, care, and community engagement.
Abu Dhabi City Municipality affirmed that organising these initiatives reflects its ongoing commitment to strengthening social responsibility and recognising all segments of society—particularly workers, whose dedication continues to drive progress and contribute to building the future.
The Municipality emphasised that marking International Workers’ Day extends beyond a symbolic gesture, representing a sincere expression of appreciation for a vital segment of society that plays a direct role in supporting key projects and advancing sustainable development.
