To encourage all segments of society to engage in sports, enhance the quality of life standards, and ensure the creation and development of modern service and recreational facilities in all areas within its jurisdiction, Abu Dhabi City Municipality, through the Musaffah Municipality Center, has inaugurated a football field on Street 8 in Musaffah Industrial Area. In cooperation with National Paint Company, ICAD Group Housing, Basateen Landscaping Company, Al Dhafra Irrigation Systems Company, Dorsch Holding Consultant, and Middle East Development Consultant, presence of former UAE national team player Captain Adel Matar.
The municipality was keen to establish a football field near the workers’ housing in the Musaffah area to facilitate access to it. The field was built according to approved specifications, with an area estimated at about 1,170 square meters. A metal fence and a high mesh fence were also installed around the field to provide privacy for sports fans and ensure their safety while maintaining the smooth flow of traffic in the surrounding streets.
The inauguration event featured a football match between two teams of workers residing in the ICAD labor city. The winning team was honored with a trophy and medals, and gifts were distributed to all participants. The attendees expressed gratitude to Abu Dhabi City Municipality and Musaffah Municipality Center for their attention to creating such facilities for the labor community, allowing them to pursue their hobbies, enjoy their leisure time outside work, and engage in beneficial sports activities. The field is expected to become a preferred option for the area's workers.
Abu Dhabi City Municipality reaffirms its commitment to strengthening its social role and contributing to the happiness of all community members by encouraging sports participation. The municipality continuously works on creating and developing multi-purpose sports fields in various areas within its jurisdiction. It activates them by organizing numerous sports activities and competitions in football, basketball, and volleyball in collaboration with its strategic partners from the public and private sectors.
