Abu Dhabi City Municipality continues its commitment to advancing its community services in line with the aspirations of the community members, and in a manner that enhances communication channels between the Municipality and all segments of society. Through the Sub-Municipalities Operations Sector - Community Services Operations Department, the Municipality has successfully executed numerous projects, initiatives, community events, and awareness campaigns during the first half of 2023.
Represented by the Community Services Operations Department, the Municipality organized 33 community events in the first half of the current year. These events attracted 25280 visitors from diverse demographics. Furthermore, the Municipality carried out 15 awareness campaigns focused on promoting social responsibility values concerning the maintenance of our city’s aesthetic appeal and integrity of public facilities. These campaigns aimed to raise awareness about the necessity of preserving the cleanliness of surfaces and lanes in residential neighborhoods and commercial premises. They also aimed to enlighten the owners of ranches and farms about maintaining a clean and aesthetically pleasing environment.
As far as the provision of food commodity services in the first half of 2023, the number of beneficiary households reached 51174 families, with 45 beneficiaries classified as people of determination and 3645 beneficiaries among senior citizens. Additionally, 9715 delivery trips were completed to provide food commodity services directly to homes.
In order to promote community engagement, the Municipality, through Sub-Municipalities Operations Sector - Community Services Operations Department, organized 82 visits to residential neighborhood councils within its geographical jurisdictioncenters. Also, the Municipality hosted the “Al-Rahba And Al-Sadr Forum”, opened the Al Shahama and Al Wathba Halls for community events, and undertook developmental and maintenance works at the Al Shari'ah Park and several swimming pools in Al Shahama.
keeping abreast with global observances, the Community Services Operations Department executed 19 initiatives, including the World Recycling Day initiative, World Water Conservation Day, Earth Hour, Beach Safety initiative, Open Day for People of Determination - Beach Wheels, Swimming Open Day for People of Determination at Al Bateen Beach, and the We Make Mshaffah Happier initiative.

Abu Dhabi City Municipality Receives 9972 Calls and Handles 2146 Reports in the First Half of 2023
Abu Dhabi City Municipality is committed to employing the latest and finest practices in managing emergencies and crises. It also operates under a clear methodology, and demonstrates exceptional performance that significantly contributes to ensuring public safety.
In this context, Abu Dhabi City Municipality, through the Sub-Municipalities Operations Sector represented by the Emergency and Business Continuity Department, has achieved multiple accomplishments during the first half of the current year, 2023. These achievements aim to provide the best safety net and peace of mind for all residents.
The Municipality's teams received 9972 phone calls from community members and handled 2146 reports during the first half of this year. Additionally, the emergency reporting index, which indicates the number of calls directed to the dedicated municipal helpline (993) that were resolved within the designated timeframe, reached a perfect success rate of 100%.
In the first half of 2023, the Municipality received compliance certification as well as its classification according to the Local Operations Rooms Requirements Manual, where Abu Dhabi City Municipality's operations were classified within category (A). Additionally, the Municipality received ISO 22301:2019 certification for Business Continuity Department System.
Operating through the Emergency and Business Continuity Department, Abu Dhabi City Municipality strengthened its collaboration with strategic partners during this year’s first. This involved providing necessary support, furnishing firefighting machinery and equipment, and coordinating efforts with the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters.

Abu Dhabi City Municipality Plants Hundreds of Thousands of Trees and Develops Millions of Square Meters of Green Spaces
Abu Dhabi City Municipality has achieved several milestones in enhancing nature beauty elements during the first half of 2023. These accomplishments aim to elevate the visual and aesthetic appeal of public facilities, gardens, parks, main and side roads across Abu Dhabi Islands and the mainland. This endeavor aligns with the cultural and urban advancement that Abu Dhabi is witnessing, which targets promoting aesthetic characteristics, sustainability standards, and quality of life.
Through the Sub-Municipalities Operations Sector - Technical Services Operations Department at Municipality sub-centers, the Municipality has carried out the planting of thousands of flowering, fruit-bearing, and ornamental trees during the first half of 2023. This effort involved planting 2,967 flowering trees, 2,888 fruit-bearing trees, 1,076 Ghaf trees, and 5,083,555 flowers during the 2023 summer season.
Furthermore, the Municipality undertook the care, maintenance, and development works for hundreds of thousands of trees, palms, and millions of square meters of green spaces. Those works included trimming, pruning, cutting, and reinforcing approximately 379,165 trees, 49,895 cactus plants, pruning 99,922 palm trees, rehabilitating 279,294 square meters planted with seasonal flowers and 2,577,255 square meters planted with various shrubs, along with 5,229,927 square meters of green spaces.
Simultaneously, Abu Dhabi City Municipality, through the Sub-Municipalities Operations Sector - Technical Services Operations Department, organized various awareness workshops on water conservation in public gardens and parks. These workshops aimed to spread knowledge to community members, encouraging their active participation in preserving natural beauty and enhancing the overall aesthetic appearance.
