As part of its ongoing efforts to uphold the city’s appearance, maintain public cleanliness, and strengthen community awareness, Abu Dhabi City Municipality implemented an awareness campaign highlighting the importance of disposing of waste in designated containers, given its direct impact on the urban landscape and environmental health.
The campaign covered municipal community facilities, as well as shop owners and villa owners, targeting all segments of society and reinforcing the individual’s role in maintaining the city’s cleanliness and environmental sustainability.
It focused on promoting responsible behaviour by encouraging proper waste disposal in accordance with approved procedures and designated containers, while addressing practices that negatively affect the city’s visual character and public health.
Field awareness visits were conducted, enabling direct engagement with facility visitors, commercial operators, and villa owners, and providing guidance on correct disposal methods. Awareness materials were also disseminated through the Municipality’s official social media platforms and the Fareejna application to broaden community outreach.
The Municipality reiterates the importance of collective cooperation and adherence to responsible conduct in safeguarding public spaces, calling on community members to play an active role in reflecting the city’s image and ensuring a clean and healthy environment for all.
This campaign reflects the Municipality’s continued commitment to advancing environmental awareness and social responsibility through sustained initiatives that preserve the city’s appearance and support quality of life.
