Abu Dhabi City Municipality organised an event titled “Our Facilities Are Active” to enhance quality of life and encourage community members to engage in sports and make full use of sports facilities across various areas. The initiative supports the adoption of healthy lifestyles and reinforces social cohesion.
The event featured the Al Furjaan Football Tournament, with the participation of 16 teams comprising community members. It targeted youth aged 16 and above, as well as individuals interested in sports and community activities from across different segments of society, in a scene that reflected strong enthusiasm, interaction, and active participation.
The tournament aimed to strengthen connections among community members, encourage the adoption of active and healthy lifestyles, and position municipal sports facilities as attractive and preferred destinations for all segments of society, supporting wellbeing and enhancing overall quality of life.
Matches were held  across several venues, including Hudayriyat Island Stadium, Al Liqa Park Pitch, Al Awfiya Pitch in Al Shamkha, and New Al Shahama Park Pitch, in collaboration with the UAE Pro League, Baniyas Club, and Burjeel Holdings.
Participating teams were distributed across four venues, with four teams at each location. The UAE Pro League organised the tournament draw and managed the opening and final matches in a professional manner, reflecting the high organisational standard of the tournament.
Several key matches were attended by players from Baniyas Club, providing encouragement and support to participants, while Burjeel Holdings ensured medical coverage and ambulance services across all venues, contributing to a safe and fully integrated sporting environment.
