Abu Dhabi City Municipality organized an awareness event for visitors to Abu Dhabi Corniche Beach and school students, focusing on the importance of recycling and its role in preserving the environment and the public appearance. The initiative aimed to encourage community members to adopt a culture of recycling and to highlight sustainable practices on beaches, contributing to enhanced community awareness and an improved quality of life.
The event included a range of awareness-raising and interactive activities designed to reinforce sustainability concepts among different age groups. These activities featured an introductory overview of the importance of recycling and sustainability, an introduction to sustainability applications implemented on beaches, as well as interactive workshops. Among these were a workshop on painting used tires and transforming them into seating, and another on planting flowers using reused water bottles—demonstrating creative and environmentally friendly ways to repurpose materials.
During the event, which was organized in collaboration with Tornado Total Landscape, gifts were distributed to participating students in a positive and engaging atmosphere. This enhanced children’s participation and motivated them to adopt positive environmental behaviors that contribute to maintaining the public appearance.
This event underscores Abu Dhabi City Municipality’s commitment to promoting a culture of sustainability, environmental responsibility, and the preservation of public spaces among community members.
