In line with its commitment to fostering collaboration with strategic partners to enhance the city’s overall appearance and expand green spaces, Abu Dhabi City Municipality, through Al Wathba Municipal Center, has successfully planted 220 Ghaf trees around designated mosques in Al Wathba, Baniyas, Al Khatim, Al Shamkha, and Al Adla. This initiative cooperated with the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat, Al Jurf Development Projects, Barari Natural Resources, and Aqar Landscaping and Gardening Services.
This effort reflects the Municipality's role in collaborating with strategic partners to implement initiatives that enhance the aesthetic appeal of mosques. It is also part of the ongoing partnership with the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments to preserve the overall public image and beautify the surroundings of mosques.
Teams from Abu Dhabi City Municipality, represented by Al Wathba Municipal Center, worked closely with representatives of strategic partners to plant Ghaf trees around the mosques within Al Wathba Center's geographical jurisdiction, as approved by the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments. Additionally, Municipality staff engaged directly with mosque representatives and officials, raising awareness about the care and preservation of Ghaf trees. These trees serve as natural landscaping elements, enhancing the aesthetic appeal of mosque areas and contributing to sustainability and environmental cleanliness.
