Abu Dhabi City Municipality organised an awareness event to mark Earth Day at Abu Dhabi Corniche Beach, as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance environmental awareness and promote sustainability among community members, while encouraging the preservation of natural resources.
The event aimed to highlight the importance of protecting the planet and fostering a shared sense of environmental responsibility, in line with the principles of the 1992 Rio Declaration, which emphasise balancing economic and social needs while safeguarding the rights of present and future generations to a healthy and sustainable environment.
The programme featured a range of awareness and interactive activities, including an introduction to Earth Day and its global significance. It also included a tree and flower planting initiative within a designated area of the beach, reflecting a practical commitment to environmental conservation and the enhancement of green spaces. The event concluded with a group photograph of participants, symbolising community engagement and collective support for environmental causes.
