Abu Dhabi City Municipality organised the “Winter Event” at Al Wathba Park, delivering a rich blend of entertainment and educational activities that combined enjoyment with learning. The event targeted families and households and was held in conjunction with the Year of the Family, reflecting the Municipality’s commitment to enhancing quality of life across its community facilities and implementing integrated programmes that bring happiness to all family members.
The event adopted a fully immersive winter theme and offered a wide range of entertainment and educational programmes suitable for all age groups, within a lively and vibrant seasonal atmosphere. It witnessed strong engagement from visitors and featured entertainment and light shows, interactive segments, enjoyable activities, and dedicated recreational programmes and workshops for children.
Activities included children’s drawing and colouring sessions, clown performances and sleight-of-hand games, interactive cartoon characters popular with children, a family photography corner, cinema screenings, an energetic skating zone, and a variety of winter-themed activities specially designed for event visitors. Gifts were also distributed to both adults and children, creating a comprehensive winter family festival experience.
The event also included awareness workshops for both adults and children, highlighting the importance of preserving the city’s civilised and aesthetic appearance and safeguarding public facilities developed by the Municipality across various areas, in support of quality of life and in service of all segments of the community.
The event was supported through the collaboration of several strategic partners from both the government and private sectors, whose effective contributions played a key role in its success and in delivering an integrated visitor experience. Abu Dhabi City Municipality partnered with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi, Environment Friends Society, Tadweer Group, and Image Nation Abu Dhabi.
This event forms part of Abu Dhabi City Municipality’s ongoing efforts to strengthen family cohesion and activate public facilities as vibrant community hubs, through the organisation of purposeful entertainment events that contribute to residents’ happiness and reinforce social values and family bonds within a safe and attractive environment.
