With the aim of enhancing community engagement, creating an enjoyable family-friendly atmosphere during the summer, providing entertainment destinations for residents and visitors, achieving the priority of community happiness, and embodying the values of the “Year of Community,” the Department of Municipalities and Transport, represented by Abu Dhabi City Municipality, organized the traditional summer entertainment event (Little Al Nokhitha Festival) on Abu Dhabi Corniche, in collaboration with strategic partners.
The Little Al Nokhitha Festival is an interactive maritime event for children inspired by the old seafaring heritage, designed to introduce them to marine professions such as pearl diving. The event featured a variety of engaging educational activities and workshops, including the Little Al Nokhitha Workshop, the Little Lifeguard Workshop, a workshop on reusing marine waste such as shells and fossilized sea creatures to create innovative artworks, a workshop on the importance of maintaining clean beaches free of waste and plastics, awareness sessions on fire prevention and how to respond to incidents, first-aid workshops covering emergency cases such as suffocation and nosebleeds, awareness sessions on Emirati etiquette (Sana’a), workshops on traditional handicrafts, and a range of cultural activities aimed at familiarizing children and youth with the heritage of the United Arab Emirates, in addition to diverse musical and artistic performances reflecting the richness of Emirati traditions.
