The Abu Dhabi City Municipality organizes a wide range of community activities and events in parks, recreational areas, and public squares within its geographic jurisdiction. These initiatives aim to maintain its reputation as a contemporary community hub that caters to diverse aspirations and contributes to the happiness of community members.
In line with this mission, the Abu Dhabi City Municipality, through the Municipal Community Center in Rabdan, is hosting the "Community Market" event at Rabdan Park for a continuous period of 10 days, specifically from November 21 to November 30, 2024. This event aims to activate community facilities, support productive families in the Rabdan area, enhance community engagement, and promote the role of the Municipal Presence Center in the region.
The municipality is collaborating with several strategic partners to provide workshops, activities, and entertainment segments that cater to visitors of all ages and interests. Partners include Khalifa University, the Tawazun Economic Council, the Abu Dhabi Businesswomen’s Council, and Al Mansour for Video and Games.
Visitors to Rabdan Park can enjoy a variety of engaging experiences, including shopping, competitions, and educational workshops tailored for both adults and children. The Community Market will feature 30 booths and a platform showcasing products from family projects and students, divided into multiple sections: the Market Section, the Theater Section, the Recreational and Group Activities Section, the Interactive Workshops Section for children, families, and youth, the Senior Citizens Section, and the Hashtag Section.
The event will also host numerous educational workshops led by certified trainers, including "How to Grow Organic Plants at Home," "Making Natural Soap," "Make Your Own Toy," a recycling activity, "Graffiti Art," where youth can learn graffiti techniques with a professional artist, and "Smartphone Photography," which will cover the basics of mobile photography with practical tips. Additionally, there will be interactive sessions focused on recycling and environmental conservation.
For entertainment and competitions, visitors of all ages will enjoy virtual reality (VR) games, short films, and family-oriented contests such as "Sack Race" and "Tug of War."
Children will be given special attention, with numerous activities and competitions planned in areas designated for face painting, coloring, and play. They can participate in simple games like trampoline jumping and movement activities, as well as enjoy theatrical performances and educational storytelling.
It is noteworthy that the market will feature 30 booths showcasing products from 25 families and several Khalifa University students, offering a diverse range of items relevant to all community members, including perfumes, incense, clothing, and food products, among others.
