In collaboration with the Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination, Abu Dhabi City Municipality organised a series of distinctive community events under the title ‘Determined to Inspire’, reflecting its steadfast commitment to supporting People of Determination and strengthening their active participation in society.
The events were held at several locations across Abu Dhabi City and the mainland, combining empowerment, engagement and creativity.
The events provided vibrant platforms for People of Determination to showcase their talents and creativity, promote the products of their enterprises, and participate in a diverse programme of interactive workshops, competitions and community activities. These opportunities reinforced their role as influential partners in community development and highlighted their inspiring abilities and potential.
At Dolphin Park on Abu Dhabi Island, visitors enjoyed a diverse programme introducing Abu Dhabi City Municipality’s services and community initiatives, while raising awareness of the Green Flag Award. The programme also featured road-safety workshops for children, complimentary medical screenings, drawing and colouring workshops, and recreational and interactive activities that attracted community members of various age groups.
Meanwhile, Courtyard Mall in Riyadh City hosted an exhibition showcasing and marketing the innovative products and enterprises of People of Determination. The Municipal Community Centre in Khalifa City and Al Jaddaf Park in Al Shahama also hosted a variety of events featuring workshops, interactive activities, competitions and ceremonies honouring participants. Dedicated spaces were provided for participants to showcase their talents and products, helping to strengthen their community participation, support their independence and highlight their contributions across various areas of life.
The events were organised in partnership with Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, Medeor Hospital Abu Dhabi and the Family Development Foundation, alongside home-based business owners and productive families. This aligns with the objectives of the Year of the Family, which seeks to foster solidarity and social cohesion and provide an inclusive environment offering opportunities to every member of society without exception.
Abu Dhabi City Municipality continues its efforts to launch community initiatives and programmes aimed at enhancing the quality of life of People of Determination and fostering their inclusion and active participation across various activities and sectors as part of its broader approach to improving quality of life throughout the city. This reflects the Municipality’s belief that empowering People of Determination and providing them with opportunities to fulfil their potential and demonstrate their talents constitute a fundamental pillar in building a more inclusive, cohesive, happy and sustainable society.
