Abu Dhabi City Municipality organised a community sports event titled “Our facilities include a sports track – Marathon running track”at the running track in the Al Nouf area. The event forms part of the Municipality’s annual programme of recurring activities and aims to promote a healthy lifestyle, maximise the use of municipal community facilities for the benefit and wellbeing of residents, and encourage community members, particularly the labour workforce, to engage in physical activity while preserving the general appearance and municipal assets.
The event was held in collaboration with several entities, including the Labour Accommodation Authority, the Abu Dhabi Police, and ADNOC Onshore. The Labour Accommodation Authority contributed by facilitating participant attendance and providing logistical support, while Abu Dhabi Police ensured on-site security coverage. ADNOC Onshore participated in the marathon and provided medical services to ensure the safety of all participants.
The event programme featured a range of activities, including awareness sessions on the importance of preserving the public appearance and municipal assets, the organisation of a marathon, the recognition of top finishers, and the distribution of prizes to participants. The event concluded with a group photograph with attendees.
Abu Dhabi City Municipality affirmed that organising such initiatives reflects one of its key priorities, namely enhancing residents’ quality of life, promoting health and physical activity, and activating municipal community facilities. These efforts contribute to building a healthy and active community while strengthening partnerships with supporting entities in service of the wider society.
