As part of its ongoing efforts to promote social responsibility and instil positive behaviours among younger generations, Abu Dhabi City Municipality has organised the “Little Inspector” initiative across several cities and locations, targeting children, school students, and community members. The initiative aims to raise awareness of the importance of preserving the city’s public appearance, reducing visual pollution, and encouraging community participation in protecting the environment and public facilities.
At Khalifa City Square, the initiative engaged school students through activities focused on instilling positive values, strengthening their sense of responsibility towards the city’s aesthetic appearance, and encouraging active participation in addressing various forms of visual distortion.
The programme included awareness workshops on the importance of monitoring, reporting mechanisms, and methods for maintaining public appearance, alongside field tours introducing students to behaviours that negatively impact the urban landscape and how to report them. Competitions were also organised, and participants were recognised to encourage positive engagement.
In Rabdan, the initiative focused on raising children’s awareness of preserving the city’s appearance and reducing visual pollution, while highlighting the role of community participation in environmental protection. It also emphasised the proper use of public facilities through a simplified, interactive approach that fosters a sense of responsibility and belonging among children.
At Shakhbout City Square, the Municipality further promoted awareness of maintaining cleanliness across the city and public facilities, instilling responsibility among children towards their environment, and encouraging community participation and teamwork. The event also provided an engaging and family-friendly environment through educational and recreational activities designed for children, focusing on the importance of preserving public assets.
In Zayed City, the initiative targeted all residents, particularly children and parents, to enhance community awareness of preserving public facilities and reinforcing positive behaviours that reflect responsibility and belonging—contributing to a more aware and cooperative society.
The initiative was also held at Al Taanus Park in Mohammed Bin Zayed City, where activities were designed to enhance children’s awareness of proper environmental practices and the use of public facilities, while developing their observation and exploration skills through engaging educational and interactive workshops tailored to their age groups.
Abu Dhabi City Municipality reaffirmed its commitment to organising such initiatives throughout the year across various locations, noting that these programmes represent an effective awareness model that combines education and engagement. They contribute to building generations that are more conscious of preserving the city’s urban appearance and public facilities, and more capable of adopting positive behaviours that enhance quality of life and the city’s visual landscape.
The Municipality also highlighted the importance of community-based initiatives targeting children and students in fostering a sense of belonging and encouraging active participation in protecting the environment and safeguarding public assets and facilities.
