Abu Dhabi Municipality – represented by the City Government Office – is collaborating with Environment Friends Society to organize an awareness initiative in celebration of Birds International Day and launch the “Protecting a Bird” initiative.
This event was created on the basis of reinforcing effective collaboration with the strategic partners to engrave the values of preserving the environment and natural environmental diversity, providing safe bird shelters and protecting them from the summer heat. The initiative – which will launch from Alsharia Park – will consist of building 20 bird nests to protect birds and to find a healthy and natural environment for them.
The initiative branches out to include the entirety of Abu Dhabi, and aside from building nests, the initiative is also organizing awareness lectures in order to raise awareness within the community and especially within school students in regard to protecting birds, providing a proper growth and reproduction environment for them, in addition to a similar digital awareness campaign through (Zoom) at the country level, initiated by Environment Friends Society on this matter.
