As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance quality of life and provide a safe, sustainable urban environment, the Department of Municipalities and Transport, represented by Abu Dhabi City Municipality, organized an awareness campaign titled “Darna – Our Buildings are Safe” throughout September 2025. The campaign aimed to reduce disturbances caused by construction sites and roadworks.
The initiative focused on raising awareness among contractors, supervisors, property owners, and workers about the importance of complying with approved building standards and regulations. This compliance plays a vital role in minimizing sources of disturbance and preserving the city’s aesthetic and civilized appearance.
The campaign included field visits, educational lectures for community members, and awareness workshops for workers and site supervisors to address behaviors that cause disturbances and to promote public safety standards. Additionally, awareness materials were shared through social media platforms and the “Freejna” application to help increase compliance among the targeted groups.
