
Abu Dhabi City Municipality organised a community sports event titled “Our Facilities Are Active” at the Municipality’s sports grounds in the Mussafah area, with the aim of encouraging the use of community and sports facilities in the area, enhancing health and sports awareness among the labour workforce, and at the same time bringing joy and recreation to workers.
The “Our Facilities Are Active” event comes as part of Abu Dhabi City Municipality’s efforts to utilise and activate its recreational and sports facilities to serve and delight the community, promote awareness of these facilities, enhance their readiness, and raise their efficiency to support quality of life, promote public health concepts, and embed a culture of sports participation.
The event featured a sports tournament that included a number of team games and matches, such as football, volleyball, and basketball, with the participation of teams coordinated with the Labour Housing Authority, in a positive competitive atmosphere reflecting the importance of sport as part of a healthy lifestyle.
The event was organised in cooperation with Life Care Hospital, which provided an ambulance and a fully equipped medical team at the event site, in addition to the participation of Abu Dhabi Police in security organisation, contributing to ensuring the safety of participants and the smooth conduct of the event in accordance with the highest safety standards.
The tournament concluded with the honouring of the winning teams and the distribution of prizes and gifts to participants, in addition to taking a group photograph, reaffirming the spirit of community participation and strengthening positive engagement with the labour workforce.
Abu Dhabi City Municipality reaffirms its ongoing commitment to developing its sports and recreational facilities in a manner that enhances quality of life, in line with its vision of building a healthy and engaged community.
