In line with the continuous development of Abu Dhabi’s urban landscape and its ongoing civilizational progress, the Municipalities and Transport Department, represented by Abu Dhabi City Municipality and in collaboration with the Integrated Transport Centre, has completed the development of the entrance to Al Shahama area and established additional parking spaces. The initiative aims to enhance the efficiency of the road network, improve traffic flow, and elevate quality of life standards.
The works included the addition of an extra lane at the entrance, along with milling and resurfacing the existing asphalt layer to ensure road quality and increase the entrance’s capacity by 50%, thereby achieving a tangible improvement in traffic safety.
Additionally, the municipality increased the number of parking spaces in the area by implementing the first phase of parking infrastructure development along the commercial building strip from plots C-147 to C-171. This phase included the creation of 302 parking spaces, of which 13 are designated for people of determination.
