The Environment, Health, and Safety Division, Abu Dhabi City Municipality (ADM), organized an awareness-raising workshop via Microsoft Teams digital platform, titled “Guide to Safe Return to Work." The workshop hosted Environment, Health, and Safety Specialist, Mr. Ahmad Al-Fanjari.
The workshop addressed many topics, including the UAE's role and efforts in countering coronavirus outbreak, the health and safety policy for working during the outbreak; information on coronavirus; and precautionary measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus; and employees’ role in countering the outbreak of coronavirus.
The speaker provided an overview of the spread of epidemics and viruses, such as the malaria outbreak in 1880, with around 200 million cases; the Spanish flu in 1819, infecting 500 million people; in addition to multiple cholera outbreaks infecting approximately 4 million people; the Ebola outbreak around 1970 and again in 2014, as well as the swine flu, SARS and other contagious diseases.
The speaker also provided many tips and guidelines that should be followed when employees return to their usual workplaces. 
Participants were also given the opportunity to ask questions about the topics discussed during the workshop. Issues related to the coronavirus pandemic and methods of prevention were also discussed.
