Abu Dhabi, June 16, 2023: Under the directives of His Highness Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, the UAE has allocated AED7.3 million to support the municipality of Hebron City in Palestine.
This initiative comes as part of the UAE humanitarian efforts to support the Palestinian people. It will be implemented by the Department of Municipalities and Transport, DMT, in cooperation with the Emirati-Palestinian Friendship Club.
The DMT has held a meeting to discuss the implementation process and how to enhance cooperation in municipal work, with the initiative reflecting the UAE’s ongoing humanitarian support of the people of Palestine.
His Excellency Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, Chairman of the Department of Municipalities and Transport, welcomed the Palestinian delegation, affirming the wise leadership of the United Arab Emirates' interest in supporting the Palestinian people. The President’s grant will contribute to bolstering the budget of Hebron City Municipality and addressing the existing financial deficit.
