In the presence and patronage of His Excellency Saif Badr Al Qubaisi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi City Municipality, and a number of executive directors and municipal employees and In the spirit of International Volunteer Day, Abu Dhabi City Municipality, through its Sub-Municipalities Operations Sector - Community Services Operations Department, orchestrated a commendation event at the Innovation Hall within its headquarters. This gathering was to pay tribute to a cadre of volunteers comprising municipal staff, strategic associates, and community constituents, acknowledging their altruistic service and further encouraging collective efforts to bolster volunteerism across diverse sectors.
The celebratory event spotlighted the recognition of exemplary volunteers from the municipal workforce and strategic allies devoted to volunteerism support. It also highlighted organizations and teams who took part in the volunteer fair, including Emirates Foundation with its volunteer initiatives like "Takatuf" and "Sanid," the UAE Marshal Program, Friends of the Environment Association, and the Hayat Association for Aftercare.
Amidst the festivities, live volunteer activities were conducted for the staff, involving the assembly and packaging of "winter clothing" into parcels for distribution among worker populations.
Additionally, Abu Dhabi City Municipality is dedicated to working closely with its partners to make volunteering a lively part of our community. They want to make the volunteering scene in the emirate stronger, get more people to know about it, and encourage everyone to give volunteering a try in a safe and organized way. This effort is all about making our community stronger together, getting young people excited about volunteering in different areas, and creating a long-term positive effect in society. They believe this will help raise a generation of young people ready and willing to help build a better future.
