Sixteen parks in Al Ain City have been awarded the prestigious 2024 Green Flag Award, including three new parks participating for the first time. Additionally, the award has been renewed for parks that participated in previous years and maintained their continued excellence.
To mark the occasion, Al Ain City Municipality held a ceremony to announce the winning parks and raise the Green Flag. The ceremony was attended by His Excellency Rashid Al-Manei, Acting Director-General of Al Ain City Municipality, along with several executive directors and officials. The parks receiving the award for the first time include Nahil Park, Al-Tawiyya Park, and Al-Amal Park. The parks that retained the award for the second consecutive year include Al-Ain Park, Al-Jahili Park, Al-Wadi Park, Al-Salamat Park, Umm Ghafa Park, Al-Waqan Park, Al-Dhaher Park, Al-Amira Park, Hili Archaeological Park, Al-Ain Oasis, and Asharej Walking Path.
Engineer Aisha Al-Balooshi, Head of the Technical Studies and Design Department at Al Ain City Municipality, confirmed that the municipality has utilized the most effective means to guide the development process and improve the management of public services under its supervision. She emphasized that this year, the municipality expanded the scope of participating parks, bringing the total number to 16 distinguished parks in Al Ain, an increase of three parks compared to last year. These parks meet the award's standards, serving as places that celebrate visitors while preserving the environment and heritage.
