Al Ain City Municipality has completed 50% of the design and implementation of signage project across Al Ain city districts.
This phase has witnessed the maintenance and replacement of approximately 20,000 signs so far, and the project is expected to be completed in its final phase by next December..
Engineer Amna Al Nassibi, Director of the Signage Design and Implementation Project, stated that the project aims to reduce the number of signs on main roads and in some areas. This is to enable drivers to follow the required signs on the roads with ease and clarity. The project also aims to enhance the efficiency of asset management, infrastructure, public facilities, and maintain their effectiveness, in order to achieve the best quality of life and preserve the overall appearance of the city.
Engineer Amna Al Nassibi, Director of the Signage Design and Implementation Project, provided further details, stating that 354 signs have been maintained and replaced on the Abu Dhabi-Al Ain Road, while 270 signs have been maintained and replaced on the Al Ain-Dubai Road, 288 signs on the Al Hayer-Suwaihan Road, 116 signs on the Al Tawheed-Al Tefeh Road, 142 signs on the Al Ain-Nahil Road, and 113 signs on the Al Ain-Al Shuwaib Road. Additionally, 45% of the repetitive and dilapidated signs on the main roads have been removed. These efforts will positively impact the city's overall appearance and civilization, as well as save operational budgets.
