Al Ain City Municipality has concluded its “Safety in the Heat” campaign, launched during the summer in conjunction with the nationwide midday work ban, which was enforced from June 15 to September 15 across the UAE.
The campaign aimed to raise community awareness about the importance of adhering to health and safety measures in hot weather, and to reduce risks resulting from direct exposure to sunlight and heat stress, particularly among field workers.
The initiative featured a variety of activities, including more than four awareness field campaigns, on-site workshops, and the distribution of educational leaflets at work sites and public areas, benefiting nearly 10,000 workers. In addition, protective tools and practical guidelines were provided to help foster a safe and healthy working environment.
Dr. Ghoweih Humaid Al Nuaimi, Head of Awareness and Communication Section at the Environment, Health and Safety Department of Al Ain City Municipality, stressed that the campaign reflects the Municipality’s commitment to implementing best practices that promote community health and safety, in line with the directives of the Government of Abu Dhabi to enhance quality of life and provide a safe and sustainable environment for all.
She highlighted that the campaign’s success demonstrates fruitful collaboration with strategic partners, whose vital role contributed to expanding the reach of the initiative and ensuring its awareness messages reached diverse target groups.
