Al Ain City Municipality carried out an inspection campaign on public swimming pools across 47 locations, aiming to ensure that operating establishments comply with approved health standards and regulations for pool operations. This initiative is part of the municipality's efforts to safeguard the health and safety of users of these facilities. The campaign covered sports clubs, hotels, resorts, and residential complexes.
Hazam Al Dhaheri, Director of the Public Health Department at Al Ain City Municipality, explained that the municipality is committed to promoting public health and safety, especially with the approach of the summer season and holidays, by conducting inspection campaigns on public swimming pools to ensure establishments are meeting public health requirements.
Al Dhaheri pointed out that inspection teams, through field visits, ensure full implementation of the health and safety standards set by the Department of Municipalities and Transport for operating public pools in Al Ain. The health requirements include prohibiting the operation or modification of any pool without an official license from Al Ain City Municipality.
These regulations also mandate the availability of certified lifeguards and the regular testing of water quality to verify the absence of bacterial or microbial contamination. The campaign also included inspections of disinfection equipment and materials, as well as verifying the efficiency of water circulation systems responsible for proper filtration and sterilization.
