Al Ain City Municipality, represented by the Public Health Department, conducted more than 22,000 inspection visits to non-food establishments during the first half of 2026 as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen compliance with health and regulatory requirements, safeguard public health, and enhance the quality of services provided to the community.
Statistics showed that the inspection campaigns and field visits covered 6,148 establishments, while 1,441 new establishments were registered during the same period. In addition, the Municipality implemented 5,489 awareness initiatives aimed at increasing awareness of health regulations and safety requirements among business owners and employees.
Hazza Abdullah Al Dhaheri, Director of the Public Health Department at Al Ain City Municipality, said that the Municipality's inspection efforts are part of a proactive approach to enhancing public health and safety standards and fostering a culture of compliance with approved regulations across various commercial activities. He noted that the Municipality continues to strengthen its regulatory system by increasing field inspections, implementing awareness programmes, and launching specialised campaigns that address community needs and priorities.
He added that the inspection activities resulted in the issuance of 2,335 warnings and 321 violations against non-compliant establishments. The Municipality also continued implementing specialised inspection campaigns, including comprehensive and deep-cleaning campaigns at the Fruit and Vegetable Market and Fish Market, inspections to monitor cleanliness standards within the market, as well as inspections of drinking water tanks and coolers, and public swimming pools in hotels, sports clubs, and educational institutions.
These efforts reflect Al Ain City Municipality's commitment to protecting public health, promoting preventive practices, and ensuring that non-food establishments comply with the highest health and safety standards, thereby contributing to a safe, healthy, and sustainable environment for the community.
