Al Ain City Municipality has completed its preparations to celebrate the 54th UAE Al Etihad Day by implementing and operating decorative installations across streets and squares in the Al Ain region, creating a festive atmosphere that reflects the spirit of the Union and enhances the aesthetic and urban appearance of the city.
Engineer Latifa Al Kuwaiti, Decoration Project Manager, stated that this year’s decorations covered the entrances and exits of Al Ain, Al Ain–Dubai Road, Abu Dhabi–Al Ain Road, and the city center area, in addition to key bridges such as Al Ain Municipality Bridge and Al Salimi Bridge, as well as a number of selected major roundabouts and intersections. The total length of decorated roads reached 144.5 kilometres across 60 vital streets.
She added that Al Ain Municipality Street was adorned with a distinctive festive look this year, and that decoration works extended to external areas including Al Wagan, Sweihan, Al Hayer, and Al Khazna. The municipality used 2,848 diverse lighting designs; all created in line with the unified visual identity of the 54th Union Day celebrations.
The municipality ensured the use of environmentally friendly materials in the decorations and relied on modern, energy-efficient lighting systems in line with the Abu Dhabi Emirate’s sustainability goals and energy conservation efforts. The designs also incorporated reusable materials for future years, enhancing cost efficiency and reflecting the municipality’s commitment to responsible environmental practices, while reinforcing Al Ain’s position as a sustainable city that combines beauty with environmental awareness.
