Al Ain City Municipality has completed the installation of decorative shapes and models that adorn the streets and squares in celebration of the 53rd UAE Union Day. The total number of light displays used for the decoration reached 3,070. The decorated streets stretch over a total of 130 kilometers, including both urban and vital roads, as well as external highways, totaling 37 roads. Additionally, 500 palm trees along urban roads were decorated, and over 1,000 flags were distributed throughout various areas of Al Ain.
Engineer Latifa Al Kuwaiti, Project Manager, said: " Al Ain City Municipality diversified the logos and symbols used in the decorations to include designs and symbols inspired by the local environment. These displays create a bright picture that reflects and deepens the achievements of the UAE Union. The decorations also feature national symbols cherished by the people of the UAE, such as the number 53, the UAE flag, and the phrase 'Long Live My Country' in both Arabic and English."
Al Kuwaiti added: "The municipality focused on creativity and innovation in the 2024 decorations, through the selection of designs and materials that meet sustainability requirements. The use of the latest lighting technology and timing systems provides the impression of constant movement, with eco-friendly lighting used throughout."
The decorated streets include vital and urban roads, including bridges, roundabouts, traffic signal intersections, and highways such as Tahnoun bin Mohammed Road and Al Ain-Abu Dhabi Road. Decorations also cover royal palace roads and routes leading to Union Day celebration venues.
The municipality ensured the application of best practices and safety measures during the installation of Union Day decorations by using high-quality materials that promote energy efficiency and safety. It also selected light colors and emissions that do not negatively affect road users, alongside using environmentally friendly lighting to ensure sustainability.
