Al Ain City Municipality, represented by the Community Services Department, is implementing an integrated system of community services, programmes, and initiatives in support of the objectives of the Year of the Family 2026. These efforts aim to enhance quality of life, strengthen family cohesion and social solidarity, and provide a supportive urban and community environment where the family remains the cornerstone of a prosperous and sustainable society.
Saeed Abdullah Al Jabri, Head of the Community Services Operations Support Section at Al Ain City Municipality, said that the results achieved during the first half of 2026 reflect the municipality’s commitment to developing community services and facilities that better respond to the needs of families, while encouraging community participation and improving overall quality of life.
He noted that the municipality organized 13 community forums and outreach visits, attended by 1,062 members of the community. These engagements aimed to strengthen direct communication with residents and gather their opinions and suggestions. The meetings resulted in the identification of 200 community requests, including needs, proposals, inquiries, and complaints, providing valuable input for improving municipal services and enhancing customer experience.
Al Jabri added that during the first half of the year, the municipality continued its efforts to raise public awareness and promote positive community behaviour by implementing five awareness campaigns, benefiting 179,981 people, in addition to conducting 3,275 field awareness visits targeting various segments of society. These initiatives contributed to increasing awareness of community issues, promoting social responsibility, encouraging the preservation of public facilities, and supporting the objectives of the Year of the Family 2026.
He also highlighted that the municipality’s enclosed parks welcomed more than 550,000 visitors during the same period, reinforcing their role as community and recreational destinations that provide a safe and family-friendly environment. These parks offer integrated facilities that encourage families to spend quality time together and enjoy recreational activities.
Al Jabri further noted that the municipality’s wedding hall booking service recorded 616 bookings during the first half of 2026, reflecting the importance of these facilities in meeting the needs of families and the wider community within a well-equipped and organized environment. He confirmed that the municipality is working to enhance the operational readiness of these venues through maintenance and refurbishment works for four wedding halls, in cooperation with the Authority of Social Contribution – Ma’an, with completion expected by the end of the year.
For her part, Mahra Rashid Al Dhaheri, Head of the Community Responsibility Section at Al Ain City Municipality, said that community initiatives play a vital role in strengthening community participation and creating a sustainable positive impact. She explained that the municipality implemented 31 community initiatives targeting various segments of society, focusing on strengthening social cohesion and reinforcing the values of cooperation, belonging, and national identity, in support of quality-of-life objectives and the development of a more cohesive and sustainable community.
Al Dhaheri also emphasized the integration between community initiatives and the municipality’s development projects aimed at improving quality of life and enhancing community well-being. She noted that Al Ain City Municipality continues to fulfil its responsibilities in the design, maintenance, and operation of road infrastructure, parks, green spaces, and public facilities, helping to provide an integrated and sustainable urban environment that meets the needs of families and enhances the city's attractiveness.
The municipality also continues to expand the development and maintenance of public and neighbourhood parks, upgrade recreational and sports facilities, and establish and rehabilitate walking and cycling paths linking residential areas. These efforts encourage community members to adopt healthier lifestyles while providing safe spaces for sports and social activities.
