Al Ain City Municipality is set to celebrate the 53rd Union Day on December 2 and 3, 2024, with a series of events across four locations in the city. The celebrations will take place at Hili Fun City, the main building of the municipality, and Al Jahili and Al Tawiyya parks. These festivities are part of the municipality’s efforts to join the nation in commemorating this significant occasion.
The theme of this year’s celebrations centers on development, modernity, and innovation, with a focus on providing an aesthetically pleasing and festive atmosphere. Visitors can expect to enjoy dazzling light displays, drone shows, and fireworks, as well as traditional folk arts and various accompanying activities that will span the entire duration of the celebration.
Sultan Saif Al Shamsi, Director of the Marketing and Corporate Communications Department at Al Ain City Municipality, explained that the municipality has expanded the number of celebration venues this year to ensure broader public participation across different areas. In addition, the facilities of the municipality have been activated in ways that align with the scale of the celebrations. Al Jahili Park, Al Tawiyya Park, and Hili Fun City were selected for their popularity, accessibility, and ample space, as well as the variety of recreational services they offer. These venues were carefully chosen to provide a festive experience that is both convenient and enjoyable for attendees.
Al Shamsi also outlined the schedule for the celebrations, which will begin on December 2 at 4:00 PM with folk arts performances at Al Jahili Park, Al Tawiyya Park, and Hili Fun City. At 8:00 PM, drone shows and fireworks displays will light up the skies over Hili Fun City, while the main building of Al Ain City Municipality will feature an impressive light show from 7:00 PM until midnight.
The celebrations will continue through December 3, with folk arts performances at Al Jahili and Al Tawiyya parks on December 2 only. Hili Fun City will also host a range of activities, including folk arts performances, artistic displays, a popular market, and food trucks. Access to Hili Fun City will be free of charge during the celebration period, allowing everyone to join in the festivities.
