Public parks and green spaces hold a special importance and a central position within Al Ain City’s community facilities, providing integrated recreational and sports amenities that enhance community wellbeing and meet the needs of different segments of society, in line with the UAE’s vision and the objectives of the “Year of the Family”.
Al Ain City is home to 55 public parks and 224 pocket residential parks distributed across various neighbourhoods, ensuring residents have convenient access to recreational and community facilities close to their homes and providing open spaces that meet the needs of all members of the community.
These parks serve as integrated family destinations, featuring family seating areas, barbecue facilities, children’s playgrounds and fitness facilities, as well as accessible spaces for People of Determination. They also include walking and jogging paths and sports courts distributed throughout parks and residential neighbourhoods, encouraging physical activity in a safe and integrated environment.
Among the city’s prominent parks are Al Jahili Park, Al Ain Oasis Green Park, Al Towayya Park, Al Aini Park and Hili Archaeological Park, which are among the city’s key recreational destinations due to their extensive green spaces and integrated facilities that attract families and visitors throughout the year.
Al Ain City Municipality confirmed that the parks are designed as integrated family destinations that go beyond recreation, contributing to stronger family bonds and providing a healthy and safe environment for all members of the community. The Municipality also highlighted its continued efforts to develop these facilities in accordance with the highest international standards.
As part of its efforts to promote healthy lifestyles, Al Ain’s parks and residential neighbourhoods feature 138 sports courts, in addition to a network of walking and jogging paths, allowing residents to engage in daily physical activities and further enhancing the integration of recreational and health services provided by the parks.
Nineteen parks in Al Ain City received the 2025 Green Flag Award, an internationally recognised benchmark for evaluating parks and green spaces based on best practices in management, sustainability and service quality. This achievement reflects the Municipality’s commitment to applying the highest environmental standards and strengthening Al Ain’s position as a sustainable urban destination.
These efforts are aligned with the objectives of the “Year of the Family”, as the parks, with their sports courts, walking paths and recreational spaces, provide interactive environments that bring family members together, strengthen social cohesion, support public health and encourage sports and recreational activities in a safe setting.
These projects reflect an integrated strategic approach to sustainable urban planning, positioning parks as a key component of quality of life in Al Ain City by integrating environmental, recreational, sports and social elements within comprehensive facilities, further reinforcing the city’s position as one of the best places to live in the UAE.
