Through its participation in the Al Ain Dates Festival 2026, Al Ain City Municipality is showcasing its achievements in managing, developing, and preserving Al Ain’s oases, which have become a leading model for safeguarding agricultural, cultural, and environmental heritage.
Engineer Rashid Hamad Al Neyadi, Director of the Central City Operations and Maintenance Centre, said that the municipality’s pavilion takes visitors on an interactive journey through the history of the oases, their management systems, and the key initiatives and projects implemented to enhance their sustainability.
The pavilion also highlights the local, regional, and international awards received by the Al Ain Oases Project, reflecting the municipality’s success in elevating the oases to a globally recognized model of environmental management and sustainability while preserving their authenticity and heritage value.
Among the project’s notable achievements are first place in the GSA 2024 Award for Best Water and Waste Management for the palm waste recycling project, second place for Best Government Sustainability Initiative, and first place in the Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation Award for outstanding achievements in oasis preservation and sustainable agriculture.
Internationally, Al Ain’s oases have received the Green Flag Award for Urban Parks seven times, secured second place in the Urban Parks Award 2021, achieved a 7-Star Rating in the Global Best Practices Award 2025, and won first place in the LivCom Awards 2025 in recognition of the municipality’s excellence in sustainability and oasis management.
Al Neyadi emphasized that these achievements reflect a comprehensive vision focused on protecting the oases as a cultural and human legacy while ensuring the sustainability of their natural resources and preserving their historical value for future generations.
