Through adopting innovative solutions that combine natural beauty with resource conservation, in alignment with the UAE’s sustainable development goals.
The festival spans a total area of approximately 50,000 square meters, of which more than 32,900 square meters are dedicated to green spaces and flower displays. Environmental Sustainability
Khalifa Al Saadi, Head of the Communications Section at Al Ain City Municipality, emphasized that the 2026 edition of the festival reflects a comprehensive and practical application of environmental sustainability principles. This is achieved through a range of innovative solutions that preserve resources while enhancing the site’s aesthetic appeal.
He explained that the municipality adopted smart irrigation systems that help reduce water consumption while maintaining the sustainability and vitality of green spaces, ensuring a continuous attractive appearance. This achieves a balance between beauty and optimal environmental practices.
Recycling
Al Saadi also noted that one of the festival’s features is the illuminated garden, covering an area of 1,400 square meters. It uses creatively designed illuminated flowers forming the phrase “Al Ain is Different,” consisting of more than 3,500 lighting units, including 2,000 solar-powered lights—reflecting a shift toward clean and renewable energy in public events.
He added that Al Ain City Municipality also ensured the use of décor and seating made from recyclable materials, reinforcing environmental sustainability and providing an eco-friendly, safe, and sustainable environment. Additionally, 10 artistic installations and 4 photo platforms were designed to convey environmental and awareness messages, promoting sustainability culture among festival visitors.
