Al Ain Municipality has wrapped up Al Ain Summer 2024 events, which took place during the period from 1st to 31st of July at various locations including Hili Mall, Hili Wedding Hall, and Al Amal Park. The events featured the participation of 18 government entities, numerous private and community institutions, productive families, and volunteer teams. The organization of these events aligns with the Department of Municipalities and Transport's strategy to create sustainable summer activities that support domestic tourism and enhance happiness and quality of life for all community members in Abu Dhabi.
Maytha Ahmed Al Nuaimi, Event and Activity Planning Specialist at Al Ain Municipality, stated that the aim of Al Ain Summer 2024 events was to create sustainable and engaging experiences that cater to all age groups among visitors and residents who choose to spend their summer vacation within the country, particularly in Al Ain. The events highlighted the city's tourism attractions.
Al Nuaimi explained that over 20 recreational activities were organized at the event sites, including cultural and entertainment programs suitable for the summer period. These included performances by Kenyan and Ethiopian communities, spaces for showcasing products from productive families, various children’s activities such as open art sessions and interactive competitions, as well as awareness workshops and medical check-ups for the public. The events also benefited from the participation of four volunteer teams: Al Ain Municipality Volunteer Team, Shukran Li’ataik Volunteer Team, Awnak Ya Watan Volunteer Team, and Watan Volunteer Team, all of which positively contributed to the event’s organization.
The municipality also appreciated the involvement of Abu Dhabi Police, Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority, Burjeel Hospital, and other participating entities, emphasizing the importance of collaborative roles and mutual support in enhancing the success of Al Ain Summer 2024 events.
