Al Ain City Municipality showcased the fruit tree development project implemented along Jebel Hafeet Road and Wadi Tarabat as part of its participation in the UAE Agricultural Conference and Exhibition 2026.
Engineer Alia Saeed Al Kaabi, Project Manager of Wadi Tarabat Development Project, explained that the project extends over a total area of 387,000 square meters and includes planting more than 10,000 trees from 16 local fruit tree varieties adapted to the region’s environment, including lemon, fig, mango, sapodilla, pomegranate, and guava, contributing to enhancing plant diversity and improving quality of life in key locations.
She confirmed that the project relies on advanced automated irrigation systems alongside the activation of an automated fertilization system, which significantly improved agricultural operation efficiency and reduced human effort. Fertilization processes previously required around 50 workers, whereas they are now managed by only one worker.
She added that the project is currently undergoing a trial phase in preparation for launching agricultural product marketing in the coming period.
