Al Ain City Municipality, represented by the Public Health Department, strengthened the public health system during 2025 through the implementation of comprehensive inspection programs targeting health, veterinary, and food-related activities.
The municipality carried out more than 15,000 field inspection visits and issued over 10,000 health certificates and regulatory actions, as part of its ongoing efforts to protect community health and ensure compliance with approved regulations.
The municipality affirmed that proactive regulatory work is a key pillar in enhancing public health, achieved through continuous field monitoring, immediate response to reports, and raising levels of health compliance across various sectors.
In the veterinary field, specialized teams handled 472,493 livestock animals arriving at livestock markets, in addition to 113,833 animals at pet and ornamental bird markets. They also conducted 9,506 control and seizure operations and impounded 5,085 stray or loose animals, as part of efforts to reduce health risks and promote animal welfare.
Regulatory efforts included inspection visits to 2,592 public drinking water tanks and 2,383 public swimming pools, handling 3,048 drinking water-related reports, in addition to intensified monitoring of fish, vegetable, and meat markets, and inspection visits to public restrooms across the city.
Within the framework of ensuring food safety, public slaughterhouses in Al Ain operated by the municipality recorded productivity of 345,182 animals, with strict health measures implemented, including full and partial condemnation of unfit cases. The laboratory unit supported regulatory work by conducting 2,789 laboratory tests in accordance with approved standards.
Al Ain City Municipality reaffirmed its commitment to continuously developing the public health system and strengthening proactive monitoring and integration between field inspections and community awareness, in line with the Abu Dhabi Emirate’s vision of providing a healthy, safe, and sustainable environment for residents and visitors of Al Ain.
