The Bee Café, an initiative of the Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination – Al Ain Branch, participated in a community event hosted by Al Ain Municipality, where its team of People of Determination demonstrated their expertise in preparing and serving specialty coffee to visitors and employees. The participation highlighted the professional skills they have acquired through the organization's vocational training and rehabilitation programmes.
The café attracted strong interest from attendees, who learned about its role as a pioneering national model for empowering People of Determination and promoting their integration into the workforce. Launched in 2022, The Bee Café is one of the organization's flagship initiatives and the first café in the UAE to be fully operated by People of Determination with different types of disabilities. The project was established to promote vocational and economic empowerment by providing high-quality employment and training opportunities in the hospitality sector.
The café follows a comprehensive vocational training programme covering specialty coffee preparation, customer service, communication skills, and self-management, equipping participants with the skills required to thrive in diverse workplace environments. Several team members have also earned internationally recognised Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) Barista certification, reflecting the high level of professionalism and expertise they have achieved.
The Zayed Higher Organization noted that The Bee Café's participation in government and private sector events provides a valuable platform to showcase the capabilities and success stories of People of Determination, while advancing its vision of building a more inclusive society where everyone has equal opportunities to contribute and succeed.
For its part, Al Ain Municipality reaffirmed that empowering People of Determination and promoting their inclusion remain key priorities within its efforts to enhance quality of life and strengthen the values of inclusivity across the community.
