During its participation in the UAE Agricultural Conference and Exhibition 2025, held at the ADNEC Center in Al Ain and continuing until May 31, Al Ain City Municipality will present a group of prominent agricultural projects and successful practices that represent pioneering models in supporting sustainable agriculture.
This participation included within the framework of the municipality's commitment to promoting environmental sustainability and agricultural innovation, in line with the UAE's vision to achieve sustainable food security.
Among the most prominent projects being presented by the municipality is the Local Educational Plant Garden, the largest gathering of local medicinal, aromatic, and edible plants. The garden aims to enhance knowledge of local plants and encourage their use in urban landscaping, to preserve and sustain natural resources.
The municipality's participation also includes a showcase of the Mist Spray Walkway project, which contributes to lowering temperatures in some walkways and urban areas using environmentally friendly technologies. This enhances quality of life and encourages the use of outdoor spaces, meeting the needs of all age groups.
The municipality's platform also includes a project to integrate fish farming with irrigation systems, combining aquaculture and hydroponics (water culture), achieving high water efficiency and enhancing integrated food production. The project also includes a subsurface irrigation project, which creates a smart irrigation method that reduces water loss and improves water consumption efficiency in agricultural areas and public parks. The project also includes a plant-based energy generation project, which aims to explore the potential for generating electricity from plant interactions in the soil, as a step towards innovative green energy sources.
